Applied spatial interface benchmark: digital twin command centers for infrastructure teams

A first-pass benchmark format for comparing map-first, 3D-first and agent-assisted operational interfaces across highways, venues and construction command centers.

Research Questions
  1. 01Can a spatial interface help an operator move from observation to action without leaving the system?
  2. 02Where does an AI assistant add useful reasoning, and where should a human approval step remain explicit?
  3. 03Which view is most useful for each task: map-first, 3D-first, timeline-first or report-first?
Method
  1. 01Define repeatable tasks such as locating an asset, reviewing a hazard, routing a crew and producing a client-ready summary.
  2. 02Score each interface against task completion, context switching, explainability, audit trail, latency and human approval clarity.
  3. 03Record evidence from prototype walkthroughs, screenshots, video captures and operator-style review notes.
